Angella Charnot-Katsikas, MDMicrobiology and Infectious Disease

Assistant Professor and Assistant Director of the Clinical Microbiology and Immunology Laboratories Angella Charnot-Katiskas, MD, has an interest in medical microbiology and virology, specifically in bacterial resistance to antibiotics. She earned an undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Chicago and a medical degree from Rush Medical College. Charnot-Katiskas completed both a clinical pathology residency and a medical microbiology fellowship at UChicago. She also is medical director of the Laboratory at the University of Chicago Cancer Center at Silver Cross. She is a member of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee at UChicago as well as a member of the CRE Detect and Protect task force for the state of Illinois.
