Hospice fraud article (NYer?) and 1 year mortality prediction

Which reminded me, I meant to do a short blog pointing to a New Yorker article on the boom in hospice fraud, but haven't yet.

Interesting strategies. To keep a profit, maintain as many as possible of the same patients on hospice for years, who have minimal care needs.

To keep your average stats looking good, also enroll as many patients as possible with 2 days to live.

To avoid tracking, just reincorporate every two years.
