CMS Opens Request for Applications for the Guiding an Improved Dementia Experience Model
November 15: CMS announced a Request for Applications for the Guiding an Improved Dementia Experience (GUIDE) Model. All applications must be submitted through the online application portal by 11:59 p.m. Eastern time on January 30, 2024. The model aims to improve the quality of life for people living with dementia, reduce strain on caregivers, and help people remain in their homes and communities through care coordination and management, caregiver education, and clinical support and respite services.
The GUIDE model is a key deliverable from President Biden’s April 2023 Executive Order on Increasing Access to High Quality Care and Supporting Caregivers and aligns with key goals of the National Plan to Address Alzheimer's Disease.
